Outlander star Sam Heughan acquired candid about how emotional it’s to be filming the eighth and last season of the hit Starz sequence.
Showing at The Land Con 6 in Paris over the weekend of April 13 and 14, Heughan attended the occasion with costars previous and current and opened up about his emotions surrounding the final season. “We’re taking pictures the final season… Season 8,” Heughan famous at first of the clip launched by RosterCon. “We’ve now shot three weeks.”
Different stars on the scene for the occasion included Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, Steven Cree, John Bell, César Domboy, Lauren Lyle, Izzy Meikle-Small, Joey Phillips, Duncan Lacroix, and even Tobias Menzies.
Throughout a panel presentation, Heughan continued to share his emotions, as he admitted, “It’s actually laborious for me. We had a read-through the place… all of the solid sits round a desk and we learn the episode so that everybody can hear it, however they made it a really special day.”
“We have been on a fort set, so we’re on this magnificent fort within the studio, and so they had a bagpipe participant… they have been taking part in ‘The Skye Boat Tune,’ the theme tune, and I simply… I used to be gone, I began crying,” Heughan revealed.
It’s understandably an emotional time as he identified, “there are such a lot of recollections. It has been virtually 11 years of my life, I’ve so many buddies, so many wonderful recollections, it’s gone so quick… so yeah, it’s gonna be actually unhappy once we end. But in addition it’s bittersweet, we’re very joyful.”
He teased, “We have now a cool story, new characters, new units, a brand new director referred to as Caitriona Balfe… Yeah, she’s doing very well.” And though it’s “gonna be laborious to say goodbye to Jamie,” Heughan identified that there’s nonetheless loads of Outlander on the horizon.
Season 7, Half 2 of the present is arriving this November on Starz, and together with the ultimate season of the sequence, a prequel spinoff, Outlander: Blood of My Blood can be taking pictures in Scotland.
