It’s with unhappiness that we announce the passing of native Blues supporter, Doug Gilmore.

Doug was a very long time supporter and a member of The Grand River Blues Society and labored behind the scenes serving to transition the previous Blues Blast into the weekly GRBS Blues Buzz. He additionally designed and formatted the Grand River Blues Bi-Month-to-month Publication. Within the early years of the Grand River Blues Society, Doug offered help with analysis and music choices for the previous Poor Of us Radio Blues Present on CKMS Univ. of Waterloo hosted by DJ Bruce Corridor
Doug peacefully handed in his 72nd 12 months, surrounded by the love of his household. Son of the late Samuel and Janet Gilmore. Ceaselessly cherished and beloved by his spouse Catherine. Dearly beloved father of Jason (Paola) HALL , Erin, Brandon (Amy), and Shaughna (Geoff). Adored Poppa of Madisyn, Brooke and Cole. Doug shall be dearly missed by many treasured members of the family and buddies. Survived by his loving sister Shirley (Bruce). He shall be fondly remembered by his first spouse Maureen Corridor-Gilmore. Doug shall be missed dearly by his beloved pet Jake. A celebration of Doug’s life shall be held at Toll Funeral Dwelling, 55 Charing Cross St Brantford on Tuesday, April sixteenth, 2024 from 10am – 11am. Eulogies shall be shared within the Chapel at 11am. In Lieu of flowers the household would recognize memorial donations to the Brant County SPCA.
