- Kathleen Shimeta has loved a flexible profession performing artwork songs, oratorio and opera. As a wanted recitalist and soloist Ms. Shimeta traveled all through the US. She has devoted time to performing the songs of composer Gena Branscombe. Kathleen carried out her one-woman present, “Life! Love! Tune! A Go to with Gena Branscombe,” with fifteen of Miss Branscombe’s elegantly lyrical songs with vivid first-person dialogue. Her CD, “Ah, Love I Shall Discover Thee: Songs of Gena Branscombe,” is on the Albany Information label. Her efficiency of Branscombe’s music Serenade was chosen for Program 8 “Arthur Farwell, American Pioneer” on baritone Thomas Hampson’s, Tune of America. Along with her analysis and dedication to bringing again Miss Branscombe’s music, the Library of Congress printed an interview with Kathleen on their weblog and within the Gazette. Ms. Shimeta has authored articles for the Affiliation of Canadian Girl Composer journal, Sigma Alpha Iota’s Pan Pipes, Girls within the Arts: Eccentric Essays II printed by Cambridge Students Publishing, WomenArts Journal and others. Ms. Shimeta was included in famend photographer Steffen Thalemann’s exhibit, “Outdoors the Field.”
