Loaded with a fistful of swagger,
Midway to Quantity 9, the debut album from Memphis & the Misfits
has actually caught my consideration. Singer/songwriter/standup & electrical bassist
Gary Davis aka ‘Memphis’ explains “Each music on this album is
based mostly on actual life occasions or inspirations…”. That explains why I can really feel the DNA
of the
Mississippi Delta intertwined with each music. Born within the Delta
and based mostly out of
Nashville, Tennessee, singer/songwriter/bassist Davis
aka “Memphis” is joined by his band
the Misfits comprised of guitarist Ryan
Sise
, drummer Dave Halstead, and extra guitarist Chris
Voorhees
.

Davis pines for the slow-paced residing in Quantity 9,
Arkansas
as he brings the listener into the album along with his cooking title
monitor “Midway to Quantity 9”. Listening to Sise’s slide guitar on “Stroll
That Line” is an absolute deal with. I like the best way he baptizes this music in swamp juice.  The smoldering Texas blues of “Good Love”
hits with a strong ZZ-Prime/SRV-inspired wallop. It sounds nice. Davis conjures
up reminiscences of excellent instances with the swing-blues of “Experience these Mississippi
Backroads”. I’m quickly hooked and reeled in to “Hongry”, caught within the internet of its
infectious riff. I like when Sise lets unfastened and unleashes his
blues-soaked efficiency.

Memphis & the Misfits’ Midway to Quantity 9 is a formidable eight
tracks of unique delta roots music. I’m already wanting ahead to their subsequent
album.
